On February 3, the UIS chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity hosted a table event in the Student Union for students to record atheir guesses for who will win the upcoming Super Bowl. The table included free candy and a list for students to enter their predictions for whether the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots will win this Sunday’s football game.
John Kennedy, a UIS junior and one of the hosts of the table, explained that this was an opportunity to the fraternity to help students come together and share their excitement about the big game.
“This tabling event allows us to interact with individuals in a lighthearted way to discuss the potential Super Bowl winner,” Kenndey said.
Each student wrote down their prediction, not only for which team will win but for what the final scores will be by the end of the night. The participant with the closest guess will be contacted by Phi Kappa Tau and receive a gift card.
This year marks the sixtieth Super Bowl, with kick off at 5:30pm Central Time. While many people will be tuned in to the big game, for whichever lucky UIS student predicted the most accurate results there is a prize beyond just the thrill of their favorite team’s victory.
