Where to eat in Springfield

Springfield is home to many unique foods. A few well-known places include D’Arcy’s Pint, Cafe Moxo, Head West Sub Stop, and the Cozy Dog Drive In.

D’Arcy’s Pint is known for their dish, the horseshoe, which is a specialty food item in Springfield. It is described as a sandwich that is made up of a meat (of your choice) on Texas toast, then topped with a large amount of french fries and a homemade cheese sauce. It is delicious and a must-try for someone who is new to Springfield.

Another local restaurant that I would highly recommend would be Cafe Moxo. They have fresh, homemade chicken pot pies that are absolutely delicious. Their baked goods, sandwiches, and drinks are also worth giving a try.

Their menu is affordable and reasonable for the amount of food. For about $9, you can get a chicken pot pie, a gigantic cookie, and a drink. This is perfect for those who are missing home and would like comfort food. This is my favorite Cafe in Springfield.

The only downside is that they close at 3 p.m. and are only open Monday through Saturday. Aside from the inconvenient hours, I absolutely love this cafe. Their food is delicious and freshly made and they provide friendly service.

There is also the Cozy Dog and Head West. A cozy dog is a hot dog on a stick that is coated in batter and then fried. The batter is delicious and better than the typical corn dog. The prices are affordable but the portions are small. I would recommend this for a quick stop for a snack.

For something more filling, I would recommend going to Head West Subs. Their sandwiches are absolutely heavenly and a good change from the conventional cafeteria food.

Though the local restaurants have delicious foods, many of them close early. For those long nights of studying, the popular 24-hour places include: Taco Bell, Steak ‘n Shake, McDonald’s, Denny’s, and IHOP.

The hours vary by location, therefore I would recommend checking which ones offer 24 hours before going.

There is also a convenience store, Casey’s, which is open 24 hours. Casey’s is a part of a gas station, but serves fulfilling food as well. This would be a good place for someone in desperate need of a midnight snack.
