UIS student dies at age 22

On Monday, April 25, UIS student Christian King of Decatur,  passed away at the age of 22.

According to UIS Public Relations Director Derek Schnapp, King was pursuing an English degree. King’s obituary in the Decatur Herald and Review said King hoped to one day be an English teacher.

The obituary further said that King was working two jobs, while taking a full course load.

“Christian came from a very large family, all of whom loved him enormously,” King’s obituary said.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the Walker Funeral Service in Decatur.
