Why is spring break important?

A full week in the middle of the semester

“I think that when you work really hard … for eight weeks straight, you have to have a chance to get away from all the homework and stress. I think that everybody just needs a chance to get away and a chance to just not be busy.”

-Audrey LeVault, senior – social work major

“It’s so important. The semester can get stressful. You need a little break there to catch up on homework or just get the chance to recuperate.”

Hannah Latif, senior – chemistry major, anthropology minor

“Just to allow the students to unwind and relax after working hard. A chance to recharge and rest up, get rest to finish up the rest of the semester.”

-Jasmin Morgan, sophomore – exercise science major

“For me, it’s a big point in the semester. It was nice to recollect my thoughts and prepare for the next six weeks leading up to finals, which gets pretty hectic. … It’s also a nice way to be able to connect with family.”

-Sean Courty, junior – English major, secondary education minor
