Both UIS teams lost road games against Wisconsin-Parkside on Jan. 26 and Lewis University on Jan. 28.

The men didn’t have an answer for the high-powered offense of Lewis University, falling 94-73 to the intra-state conference foe. Five Prairie Stars scored in double-figures on the day but it wasn’t enough as UIS couldn’t overcome a 12-point halftime deficit on the road.

A big difference maker in the contest was a 15-6 turnover ratio in favor of the Flyers, resulting in 16-points of those turnovers opposed to just ten for UIS.

At Wisconsin-Parkside against the No. 25 Rangers on Saturday, Jan. 28, Vince Walker had himself a career-night, scoring 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting and 7-of-11 from three.

But Walkers’ 29 points weren’t enough to hold off the Rangers, who came away with a 92-76 victory.

In women’s action, the Prairie Stars went into Neil Carey Arena and gave Lewis University everything they could handle but came up short, falling 71-63.

UIS took a three-point lead in the second quarter but Lewis took a three point lead into the half and a late UIS rally came up short. Destiny Ramsey led the way with 19 points for UIS.

Syerra Cunnngham notched her 10th double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The women fell to Wisconsin-Parkside by a score of 78-54. UIS scored just eight points in the opening quarter and wasn’t able to recover. Ramsey led UIS offensively with 11 points and was the lone Prairie Star to reach double figures.
