Students looking for Halloween activities have plenty of options this fall on campus and in the Springfield area.
The UIS History Club presents Halloween Trivia Night at the Student Union Sports Grill on Oct. 24. The club brings together UIS students who share an interest in history. The club and the event are open to everyone. The event will feature spooky tunes, candy, and a trivia showdown for fabulous prizes. History Club President, Courtney Mason said, “We will have winners from each respective trivia topic: Halloween movies, the haunted Midwest, and creepies and haunted objects. We hope to invite all students for a fun evening of trivia, candy, and Halloween fun.”
Phi Kappa Tau fraternity is hosting a carnival at the Student Union North Patio. The chapter with approximately 20 members promotes learning, leading, and serving. On Oct. 25 they will be serving up hot chocolate, apple cider, and s’mores. There will also be cornhole and a contest to decorate the best pumpkin. Costumes are welcomed and encouraged.
Finally, UIS Residence Life is having a Haunted Hall in the LRH Great Room and the Volunteer and Civic Engagement Center is hosting a Trick or Treat for Canned Goods event on Oct. 5. benefiting the Central Illinois Foodbank.
